Multiplication NOT Addition

Be fruitful, and multiply.

-God

We see it at the very beginning, the command, the design, the mandate, to multiply.  God creates and gives a blessing to all the beings, be fruitful and multiply.  He gives the same blessing when he creates mankind.  He even created things with the natural ability to multiply.  From the tiniest of weed to the mightiest of trees, they all contain it, that is SEED.  From the largest of fish, to the tiniest crustacean.  SEED.

Before the miracle of multiplication of bread and fish, what did Jesus ask for?  SEED.  He asked the disciples, “what do YOU have?”  Jesus understood the principle and protocol of the kingdom that was in play.  Even though they had walked with him, they still needed to understand and learn the protocol, the mandate, the blessing of the Kingdom.   You see this expectation of multiplication when Jesus curses the fig tree.  Jesus' expectation was for the single lonely tree to be producing fruit.  The tree not doing so, became a visual example to the disciples of the consequences of not multiplying.  Jesus declared, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.”

What an indictment of the consequences of NOT producing fruit, that which makes multiplication occur.  You see, even a single tree was expected to produce, and the expectation was not a single or clone of the tree, but rather FRUIT.  That is, to produce many seeds.

Jesus came to demonstrate The Kingdom.  The Kingdom of God operates not on the premise that the norm is addition and that multiplication is the exception.  God is not a God of “just enough” OR “barely enough”.  He said at the very beginning, “Be Fruitful and Multiply.”  He did not say “see if you can add a few others to this good thing.”  Jesus came to demonstrate the Kingdom of God on earth.  The framework that Jesus' demonstrated was indeed the abundance of multiplication.  The first miracle was abundance at the wedding feast.  When he multiplied the fish and loaves, there was more than enough, so much so there were full baskets of leftovers!  In the parable of the sower, the good ground did not produce an addition.  No, it produced a multiplication factor, exponential folds of hundred, sixty or thirty.  Thirty fold return is the minimum return of the expectation.  The world system has its investment “experts” that are happy with a ten percent or even less return to a portfolio.  They have convinced people to expect this as the max high average but to expect much less returns should be the norm.

The exact reaction the disciples had to the fig tree immediately being withered away, is the exact reaction of the majority claiming His name today.  Listen to what Jesus said to their reaction:

“Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt…
ALL things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

You see, Jesus' proclamation was not to Him something that was unbelievable.  To Him, it was about just stating the obvious, the overriding protocol, the truth of the Kingdom.  To Jesus, it was not something to be “amazed” at.  He was simply walking in the truth and revelation of the Kingdom.  You see when one operates in the truth of the Kingdom of God, one's expectations, declarations, and proclamations, in other words, ones’ prayers, come out of a belief system whose framework is of abundance.

The disciples were amazed at Jesus’ declaration, even though they had walked with him, ate with Him, and spent many many hours around Him.  They were amazed, because their level of expectation was what they had been taught, that addition is the norm.  To expect multiplication to be the protocol, the set expectation of the Kingdom, was not their belief mindset.  That’s why Jesus immediately addressed where their faith was.  He even expressed that the tree withering was not even all that “amazing”.  He basically said, this is just the “base” level.  There is so much more! If you just believe.

This belief structure is what many have to address within themselves today.  Many claiming to be in the kingdom of God, operate as though multiplication is not the expectation of the Kingdom.  Jesus addresses this very concept with the parable of talents.  The master goes away and comes back after a while with a demand of a return of the seed that each was given.  Let’s read what he said to the one that didn’t return to him a multiplication of the single talent (seed) he was given:

“You wicked, lazy slave,
you knew that I reap where I did not sow
and gather where I scattered no see,
then you put my money in the bank and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.
Therefore take away the talent from him,
and give it to the one that has the ten talents…
throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness;
in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
(Mathew 25)

The master called the person that did not increase at all the seed given, WICKED, LAZY and WORTHLESS.  The consequences of the non multiplication returns are not pleasant either.  Thrown into outer darkness, where weeping and gnashing of teeth will be but there will be no relief, is indeed the consequences of the seed not sewn.

It is written that God gives SEED to the sower.  Why?  It is because God gives the means of multiplication.  God is not a genie in a bottle, here to grant our immediate gratification.  The Kingdom of God expectation is not instant flash in the pan results, but rather long term and steadfast.  Jeremiah wrote down of this expectation:

BLESSED is the man who trust in the Lord

AND

Whose trust is the Lord.

For he will be like a tree planted by the water
that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes;

but its leaves will be green

and will not be anxious in a year of drought

nor CEASE to yield fruit.

What is fruit?  The seed carrier!  That is the means to provide so others can also experience multiplication.  We see even in the results of the multiplication itself, the means to help others also experience multiplication is present.  For it has never been about results just for oneself, the kingdom is about abundance and to serve so others can also increase.

The world system teaches that there is a limit to wealth and increase.  The Kingdom of God knows not of this paradigm.  The Kingdom’s culture has been and is always one of abundance, so that others may also increase.  God said it, as long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest.  It is not as long as the earth remains, cloning or duplication, but seedtime and HARVEST, that is multiplication.

That’s the distinction of the Kingdom, abundance.  It is not about lack, but about generosity. It is not about being left in need but about provision with more than enough.  It is not about selfish increase of wealth for one self, but rather to exhibit the wealth of the Kingdom out of oneself.   To someone that was thirsty, Jesus gave not just any water, but LIVING water, and supplied their need that a whole city turn to Jesus.  To the one that was blind, Jesus asked what do you need.  He gave him sight beyond just physical sight, He Gave him sight into the Kingdom.  To the ones that were worried about others being hungry, Jesus said, “what do you HAVE (seed)” so THEY could then supply more than enough to the hungry crowds.  You see the multiplication is never about one's own wealth or selfish wants, it is about multiplication of the Kingdom.  It is about the restoration of original intent to the command of God to take DOMINION.

You see Jesus exhibited the Kingdom, but he never just addressed a need.  He always operated from the Perspective of the Kingdom and by addressing the root cause the need was fulfilled.  There are many today that do things in “the name of Jesus.”  Things like feeding the hungry, giving a dollar or two to a beggar, building a hundred million dollar used one day a week facility for a one hour gathering, fasting from sundown to sunset every other day to show devotion and dedication to God.  Weekend “deliverance sessions” are held all over the world, “in Jesus Name.”  Yet many will be surprised at the statement that Jesus will tell them one day.  They will say, “Didn’t we do all these things IN your name?”  And Jesus will reply to them “Depart from me for I never knew you.”

You see the principle when the beggar asked for money, and the disciples said, “silver and gold we don't have.”  Rather they operated in the protocol of the Kingdom and they addressed the root cause of the issue.  In doing so, the beggar went from being unable to work and eat, to someone able to work, provide for himself and to increase to let resources flow from him to bless others.  That’s the Kingdom!

So if multiplication is the framework of The Kingdom, why are so many walking in lack?  Why are so many claiming the name of God, operating in lack of peace?  Why are so many barely living “day to day” in a hope of escaping to “heaven” one day.  Why are so many wanting someone else to fill the “need” rather than the blessing going through them?   There can be many reasons why something is lacking in someone’s life.

“Where is the seed?” Is a question that can reveal the root cause of many things, especially in the area of lack.  It is written that God gives SEED to the sower, and since God is not a liar, the question itself reveals the condition of the heart.  Was the seed stolen?  Was the seed thrown out and discarded?  Was the seed wasted?  Was the seed eaten rather than sown?  Was the seed never seen as seed and thrown away?  Was the seed despised?  The honest answer of “Where is the seed” can indeed reveal many things.

But it is also written that as long as the earth remains, there will be seedtime and harvest.  The question is “What is being multiplied?”  A harvest of nothing sown, produces a multiplication of nothing.  A multiplication of anxiety, is a harvest of the seed sown.  Job said it himself, “what i FEAR has come upon me.”  Many are taking not God’s seed, but their own corrupted seeds, and sowing that into their lives.  The fruit that is produced has consequences that can multiply for many generations.  Look at Abraham sowing his seed out of his own corrupt understanding.  Rather than trusting God, he trusted his own understanding and indeed his seed multiplied to many peoples groups that now are in constant contention with the true promise.

The Lord provides the Rain too!  He makes the rain fall on the JUST and the UNJUST.  It WILL multiply what was sown.  So many are not fighting the enemy but are just in the midst of a harvest of their own doing, for the Kingdom protocols remain.  That is why Jesus said, it is not what comes into the mouth that defiles a man but what comes OUT of the mouth.  Or rather, the seed sown into the harvest field through your speech that creates the harvest that is sewn.

The maturity of the Children of God, demands accountability.  It is indeed written that EVERY idle word will be judged.  It is because with maturity comes understanding, with understanding comes accountability, with accountability, the revelation of the amazing ability to create both GOOD harvest and unrighteous harvest is unveiled.

That's why Multiplication NOT addition is the protocol of the Kingdom.  God’s abundance is available to His Children.  It provides an opportunity to create a multiplication of a righteous harvest.  This responsibility and accountability is indeed something not to be taken lightly.  As moving in one’s own will also gives an opportunity to produce a harvest of Ishmael’s.  And this is why Jesus said to pray like this, “YOUR will be done, on earth as it is done in heaven.”  Those walking in the Kingdom, mature in their understanding, seek their Father’s heart about their own will, and this is the seed they sow, to produce a multiplication of righteousness unto people’s lives.

Many know the God of Multiplication, but when they see lack, or need, they beg for HIM to provide.  You see it is far easier and comfortable to believe the known counterfeit than to truly operate in the unfamiliar truth.  The first 12 apostles had this problem too, even though they walked and saw first hand the miracles of multiplication through Jesus themselves.  They saw it first in 4000 fed with 12 baskets full of leftovers, then there were 5000 fed with 7 baskets full of leftovers…but look how the disciples operated after experiencing all this:

And the disciples came to the other side and forgot to take bread.  And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.  And they reasoned among themselves, saying, We took no bread.

And Jesus perceiving it said,

O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves

because ye have no bread?

Do ye not yet perceive,

neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand,

and how many baskets ye took up?

Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

How is it that ye do not perceive

that I spake not to you concerning bread?

But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

You see, first in the 5000 miracle, it was THEM that had concern for the crowd, and they came to Jesus to send the crowd away, they didn’t know they had already in their possession the source to provide for all the crowd in the upcoming miracle of over 4000.  In the crowd of over 4000, it was JESUS that had compassion, and once again, they told him we DON'T have enough, we ONLY have these leftovers, JUST seven loaves and a few fishes!  This is all they had from 12 baskets full of leftovers!  But even so, Jesus took what they had and MULTIPLIED and fed over 4000.  So they thought they finally understood The Kingdom principle and reasoned the protocol to be, “always have bread with you.”

However Jesus rebuked them, showing them they still were stuck in the comfort of the counterfeit.  Not understanding the reality of the truth of the kingdom.  You see God not only is a God that supplies all our needs, has compassion on us and gives us grace, but also that in that multiplication, provides the MEANS of more multiplication. The first time it was Twelve basket fulls (one for each disciple) the second time it was SEVEN (signifying completion).  And yet even so, when they reached the other side, they were worried about the bread, and failed to realize that God provided for them SEED.  It was the SEED that would produce after its own kind.  Jesus was teaching them about the Kingdom.  The Pharisees and Sadducees taught the counterfeit, and this would produce after its own kind.  So Jesus had to warn them, directly and straight, “watch what you are allowing to be sown into your belief system and what you have become comfortable accepting as truth.

We can only imagine what would have been had the twelve taken the baskets, the seed given to them, and use that for themselves to step into the Kingdom Truth and for themselves to provide to the 4000 crowd.  Remember Jesus told them HE had compassion on the crowd the second time. He said that because he knew they had already been given the means to provide for the need, but he also knew that they had eaten most of their seed.

The Kingdom protocol of multiplication reveals 3 things:

1. Where trust is within the heart.

2. The posture of belief that God provides

3. If the seed has been sown or has it been eaten.

Multiplication exhibits the abundance and extravagance of the Fathers Love.  How assuring and comforting indeed it is for the mature children of God to know that He even gives the seed needed for the miracle of multiplication to occur!
